Former Australia captain Michael Clarke believes there “is something seriously wrong” if spin-bowling all-rounder Imad Wasim doesn’t get picked in Pakistan’s squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup in June.

Imad recently reversed his decision to retire from international cricket, meaning he is now available for selection again.

The 35-year-old recently played for Islamabad United in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and played a vital role in helping the team lift the trophy.

Imad took 12 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 20.91 and an economy rate of 6.60.

He also did well with the bat, scoring 126 runs, which included a top score of 59 not out, at an average of 21 and a strike-rate of 128.57.

“If he is not playing for Pakistan in the T20 World Cup, [there] is something seriously wrong,” Clarke was quoted as saying by Geo Super.

The 2024 T20 World Cup is scheduled to be held in the West Indies and United States of America from June 1 to 29.
