
Irfan Khan: “When I came to bat with Shoaib Malik, I told him that ‘I’m your man of crisis’ so don’t worry now”

Pakistan rising star Irfan Khan recalled telling veteran batsman Shoaib Malik that he is the “man of crisis” during the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Both players represented the Karachi Kings in PSL 9, but the team failed to make it to the playoffs.
Despite that, Irfan made a name for himself as he scored 171 runs in nine matches at an average of 42.75 and a strike-rate of 140.16.
“When I came to bat with Shoaib Malik, I told him that ‘I’m your man of crisis’ so don’t worry now,” the 21-year-old from Mianwali was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Malik had a solid showing in PSL 9 as well, amassing 254 runs in 1o games, which included a top score of 53, at an average of 31.75 and a strike-rate of 115.98.
