Former Pakistan team director and interim head coach Mohammad Hafeez sees top order batsman Saim Ayub being able to score 100 runs off 40 balls.
Ayub is well-known for his power-hitting and put it on full display while playing for the Peshawar Zalmi in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The 21-year-old scored 345 runs in 11 matches, which included two fifties, at an average of 31.36 and a strike-rate of 157.53.
It should be noted that Ayub hit 21 sixes in PSL 9, giving him the most maximums out of any batsman in the tournament.
Considering the immense firepower the Karachi-born batsman possesses, Hafeez believes he can inflict big damage on opposition teams in the future.
“If Saim plays 40 balls in an innings, he will score 100 runs,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The Zalmi qualified for the playoffs in PSL 9, but saw their campaign come to an end when they lost to the Multan Sultans in the Qualifier and eventual champions Islamabad United in Eliminator 2.
