Pakistan rising star Jahandad Khan said “there are no all-rounders” in the national team and aims to change that by breaking into the squad.
Jahandad was one of the young cricketers who really stood out during the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he represented the Lahore Qalandars.
The 20-year-old from Rawalpindi scored 88 runs in nine matches at an average of 22 and a strike-rate of 187.23.
He also took five wickets at an average of 45.20 and an economy rate of 9.82.
Having had a solid campaign in PSL 9, Jahandad confirmed his next goal is to be called up to the national team as an all-rounder.
“There are no all-rounders in Pakistan so I want to represent Pakistan as an all-rounder. That’s my aim,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The Qalandars were the defending champions coming into PSL 9, but failed to retain their title as they finished at the bottom of the points table after winning just one out of the 10 games they played.
