
Shadab Khan: “Faheem Ashraf is one of our main players. He’s our man for a crisis… We know what his calibre is as a cricketer”

Pakistan spinner Shadab Khan said all-rounder Faheem Ashraf is Islamabad United’s “man for a crisis” as he is a top calibre player.
Faheem recently played for Islamabad in their triumphant 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) campaign and scored 100 runs in 12 matches at an average of 16.66 and a strike-rate of 129.87.
The 30-year-old from Kasur also took six wickets at an average of 46 and an economy rate of 9.85.
While his statistics may not be that impressive, Shadab insisted that Faheem “is one of our main players.”
“Faheem Ashraf is one of our main players. He’s our man for a crisis… We know what his calibre is as a cricketer,” he was quoted as saying by respected journalist Saj Sadiq on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Shadab did extremely well in PSL 9 as he claimed 14 wickets in 12 games at an average of 26.85 and an economy rate of 8.54.
The 25-year-old Mianwali-born cricketer also made 305 runs, which included three fifties, at an average of 30.50 and a strike-rate of 142.52.
