Pakistan spin-bowling all-rounder and Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan said 18-year-old seamer Ubaid Shah is faster than his brother Naseem.

Shadab noted that he has faced both speedsters and acknowledged that he noticed Ubaid “seemed really quick.”

The teenage pace sensation has been on a rampage for the Pakistan Under-19 team and looked unstoppable during the 2024 Under-19 World Cup as he was the joint second-highest wicket-taker with 18 victims in six matches at an average of 12.38.

“Ubaid Shah is faster than Naseem Shah! I played him and he seemed really quick,” Shadab was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Ubaid recently featured for Islamabad in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL), but went wicketless in the two games he played.

As for Naseem, he took 15 wickets in 11 matches at an average of 22.20 and an economy rate of 7.56.

Islamabad ended up winning PSL 9 after beating the Multan Sultans by two wickets in the final.
