Sarfaraz Ahmed: “He can be useful for Pakistan but it depends on Amir how he sees his future with the national team”

Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed firmly believes left-arm pace bowler Mohammad Amir can be a useful asset for the national team.
However, Amir retired from international cricket in December 2020 and would need to reverse that decision in order to represent his country again.
Ultimately, Sarfaraz urged the 31-year-old from Gujar Khan to think about his future and make a decision on whether he wants to play for Pakistan again or continue featuring in various T20 leagues around the world.
“He can be useful for Pakistan but it depends on Amir how he sees his future with the national team,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Amir recently played for the Quetta Gladiators in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and claimed 10 wickets in nine matches at an average of 28.60 and an economy rate of 8.41.
Sarfaraz, who was also part of the Gladiators’ squad, scored 22 runs in six games at an average of 5.50 and a strike-rate of 75.86.
