Mohammad Hafeez: “The total out-of-form performance of Faheem and Imad is dragging Islamabad United down from a bowling point of view”

Former Pakistan team director and interim head coach Mohammad Hafeez has called out all-rounder Faheem Ashraf and spinner Imad Wasim for dragging Islamabad United down from a bowling standpoint, even though the franchise were crowned champions in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Faheem and Imad were both key members of Islamabad’s bowling attack, but were not as effective as Hafeez would like.
Faheem took six wickets in 12 matches at an average of 46 and an economy rate of 9.85.
As for Imad, he fared a lot better, claiming 12 wickets in 12 games at an average of 20.91 and an economy rate of 6.60.
Hafeez admitted that he expected a lot more from the duo, especially considering how experienced they are.
“The total out-of-form performance of Faheem and Imad is dragging Islamabad United down from a bowling point of view,” Hafeez was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
After making it to the playoffs, Islamabad defeated the Quetta Gladiators by 39 runs in Eliminator 1 on March 15.
They then beat the Peshawar Zalmi by five wickets in Eliminator 2 on March 16 before going on to take down the Multan Sultans by two wickets in the final on March 18.
