Ian Bishop: “What an over. One of the great overs in the history of the PSL. Four wickets in the over to the little magician. Arif Yaqoob has changed the game”

Former West Indies pace bowler and renowned cricket commentator Ian Bishop has hailed Pakistan leg-spinner Arif Yaqoob for his wicket-taking skills in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Yaqoob played for the Peshawar Zalmi in PSL 9 and took eight wickets in five matches at an average of 17.75 and an economy rate of 8.87.
The 29-year-old’s most notable highlight came in the Zalmi’s clash against Islamabad United on February 26 as he finished with career-best figures of 5-27 off his four overs, with four wickets coming in one over.
Bishop was amazed by Yaqoob’s talent and acknowledged that he single-handedly shifted the game in the Zalmi’s favour, especially as they ended up beating Islamabad by eight runs.
“What an over. One of the great overs in the history of the PSL. Four wickets in the over to the little magician. Arif Yaqoob has changed the game,” he was quoted as saying by respected journalist Saj Sadiq on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The Zalmi managed to make it to the playoffs, but lost to the Multan Sultans by seven wickets in the Qualifier.
They then faced Islamabad in Eliminator 2, but were handed a five-wicket loss, which brought their campaign to an end.
