Former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq has slammed Islamabad United for not knowing how to use fast bowler Naseem Shah properly in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Naseem is one of Pakistan’s first-choice seamers in all three formats and has shown a marked improvement over the past couple of years.
He made a comeback from a shoulder injury in PSL 9 and has been in excellent form, taking 15 wickets in 10 matches at an average of 20.53 and an economy rate of 7.70.
Even though the 21-year-old has been in good form, Misbah has been less than impressed with Islamabad’s utilisation of him, saying they need to understand the best times to call on the talented youngster.
“They don’t know where and how to use Naseem,” he was quoted as saying by Geo Super.
Islamabad advanced to the PSL playoffs and beat the Quetta Gladiators by 39 runs in Eliminator 1 before taking down the Peshawar Zalmi by five wickets in Eliminator 2.
They will now go up against the Multan Sultans in the final on March 18.
