Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood has admitted that he was disappointed with spin-bowling all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz’s performance in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Nawaz played under Masood’s captaincy for the Karachi Kings and took two wickets in eight matches at an average of 88 and an economy rate of 8.80.

He also scored 88 runs at an average of 17.60 and a strike-rate of 125.71.

With Nawaz being one of Pakistan’s go-to spinners in limited overs cricket, Masood conceded he expected a lot more from the 29-year-old.

“Nawaz’s performance has not been according to his abilities, we are expecting more from him as an all-rounder,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

The Kings failed to reach the PSL playoffs as they finished in fifth place on the points table with four wins out of the 10 games they played.
