Mohammad Amir: “I have no personal enmity with Babar. We have played cricket together, and we have a good relationship”

Pakistan left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir has insisted that he and batting superstar Babar Azam don’t hate each other.
Amir noted that the duo have played plenty of cricket together and against each other in the past.
Despite persistent rumours swirling around about bad blood between the duo, the 31-year-old poured cold water on the speculation, saying he and the former Pakistan captain “have a good relationship.”
“I have no personal enmity with Babar. We have played cricket together, and we have a good relationship,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Amir and Azam recently faced each other in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL), with the former playing for the Quetta Gladiators and taking 10 wickets in nine matches at an average of 28.60 and an economy rate of 8.41.
As for Azam, he captained the Peshawar Zalmi and scored 569 runs in 11 games, which included a century and five fifties, at an average of 56.90 and a strike-rate of 142.60.
Both the Gladiators and Zalmi made it through to the PSL playoffs, but the Gladiators saw their campaign come to an end when they lost to Islamabad United by 39 runs in Eliminator 1.
The Zalmi suffered a seven-wicket defeat at the hands of the Multan Sultans in the Qualifier and then lost to Islamabad by five wickets in Eliminator 2 on March 16.
Islamabad will now face the Sultans in the final on March 18.
