Peshawar Zalmi head coach Daren Sammy is frustrated that Pakistan big-hitting batsman Mohammad Haris has failed to score runs in the ongoing 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Haris is one of the most exciting up-and-coming batsmen in Pakistan, but has had trouble being consistent.
Sammy has noticed his problem in PSL 9 and called out the 22-year-old for not making the most of his chances, especially in the important powerplay period.
“In the powerplay we have been up there and again Haris has not scored runs,” he was quoted as saying by Geo Super.
Haris has featured in nine matches in PSL 9 and mustered 102 runs at an average of 12.75 and a strike-rate of 124.39.
The Zalmi have made it through to the playoffs, but suffered a seven-wicket defeat at the hands of the Multan Sultans in the Qualifier.
They will now face Islamabad United in Eliminator 2 on March 16. Should they win, they will take on the Sultans in the final on March 18.
