Alex Hales: “The way he hits the ball is second to none”

England batsman Alex Hales has hailed Pakistan big man Azam Khan’s power-hitting, saying it is “second to none.”
Azam is one of the top up-and-coming ball-strikers in Pakistan and has put his big-hitting skills on show in many T20 leagues.
The 25-year-old’s strong performances at the domestic level recently earned him a recall to the Pakistan T20I team for the five-match series against New Zealand, but he couldn’t light things up as he was limited to 22 runs in three games at an average of 7.33 and a strike-rate of 115.78.
Despite failing to impress against the Black Caps, Hales has seen firsthand how brutal Azam can be when he gets going.
“The way he hits the ball is second to none,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Hales and Azam are now involved in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL), with both of them representing Islamabad United.
