Pakistan pace bowler Mohammad Amir believes it would be unwise for him to come out of retirement and play international cricket again as he is fully aware of the ever-changing system in the country.
Amir retired from international cricket in December 2020 and feels that he is happy with where he is right now.
While he is enjoying playing in different T20 leagues around the world, the 31-year-old hinted that he may reconsider his decision about representing his country “in the next few years.”
“Three years is a long period out of the international system. If you look at the Pakistan system right now, it is changing every single month, so you never know what is coming,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
“For me, this debate is closed. After three years out, I don’t think it would be a sensible decision for me to come back. For now, at least. I don’t know what will happen in the next few years.”
Amir is now playing for the Quetta Gladiators in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and has taken two wickets in three matches.
