Pakistan fast bowler Mir Hamza has revealed that legendary left-arm seamer Wasim Akram “praised my precision” during the recent three-Test series against Australia.

Hamza was one of Pakistan’s standout bowlers in the series as he took seven wickets in two Tests at an average of 20.71.

The 31-year-old added that the Sultan of Swing also congratulated him for playing over 100 first-class matches and wished him all the best going forward.

“Wasim Akram advised me to stick to my basics and not try too hard on bouncy Australian pitches. After bowling well, he praised my precision and experience from playing 100 first-class matches, wishing me the best for the future,” he told Cricket Pakistan.

Following the Australia tour, Pakistan faced New Zealand in a five-match T20I series, which they lost 4-1.

Hamza is now representing the Karachi Kings in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and has taken four wickets in his first two matches.
