Ravichandran Ashwin: “An outstanding player but the only change he may have to make is for DRS (which is huge) nevertheless I think he will win the battle”

India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has admitted that if he were to bowl to Javed Miandad in his prime, he would come up short against the legendary Pakistan batsman.
Ashwin acknowledged Miandad’s exceptional ability to play spin bowling, but pointed out that if he were playing today, he would have to be aware of the DRS system.
Regardless of that, the 37-year-old reiterated that Miandad would triumph in a battle against him.
“Totally agree with your view. An outstanding player but the only change he may have to make is for DRS (which is huge) nevertheless I think he will win the battle,” he said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Miandad represented Pakistan in 124 Tests and scored 8,832 runs, which included 23 centuries and 43 fifties, at an average of 52.57.
He also made 7,381 runs in 233 ODIs, which included eight hundreds and 50 half-centuries, at an average of 41.70.
The Pakistan team recently lost 3-0 in their Test series against Australia and were then crushed 4-1 in a five-match T20I series against New Zealand.
Many of the national players will now be involved in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL), which will be played from February 17 to March 18 in four cities – Lahore, Multan, Karachi and Rawalpindi.
