Pakistan middle order batsman Salman Ali Agha is not at all concerned about Babar Azam’s batting form, noting that the 29-year-old knows “how to get out of these situations.”
Azam has been going through a rough patch for a couple of months, including during the three-Test series against Australia, where he mustered 126 runs at an average of 21.
The 29-year-old showed signs of recovery during the five-match T20I series against New Zealand as he amassed 213 runs, which included three fifties, at an average of 42.60 and a strike-rate of 142.
Considering how much success Azam has enjoyed in his career thus far, Salman is optimistic that the Lahore native’s poor run of form will come to an end in the near future.
“We’re not concerned about his form, and he himself is aware of how to get out of these situations,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Azam will now captain the Peshawar Zalmi in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL), while Salman will represent Islamabad United.
PSL 9 will take place from February 17 to March 18 in four cities – Lahore, Multan, Karachi and Rawalpindi.
