Veteran Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez believes that batsman Iftikhar Ahmed has a very bright future ahead of him.
Hafeez’s comments come after Iftikhar amassed 108 runs in the recently concluded three-match Twenty20 series against Australia, which included a career-best score of 62 not out, at an average of 108 and a strike-rate of 150.
Iftikhar finished unbeaten on one in the first Twenty20 Internationals, which was abandoned due to rain, before smashing a 34-ball 62 in the second game, which Australia won by seven wickets.
He followed that up with a 37-ball 45 in the third Twenty20 International, which Australia won by 10 wickets.
Hafeez noted that Iftikhar is a “strong hitter of the ball” and is capable of batting at any position.
“Iftikhar is a strong hitter of the ball. You can use him wherever you want. He knows how to deliver and has done [that] often in domestic cricket,” Hafeez was quoted as saying by Ary Sports.
