Ex-Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur pointed out that Twenty20 captain Babar Azam and batsman Iftikhar Ahmed are the only two players who can have their “heads held high” following the Twenty20 series against Australia.
Pakistan lost the series 2-0, but Azam and Iftikhar were the two bright spots for the men in green as they performed superbly.
Azam scored 115 runs in three matches, which included two fifties, at an average of 57.50.
Iftikhar, meanwhile, accumulated 108 runs in three games, which included a career-best knock of 62 not out, at an average of 108 and a strike-rate of 150.
“Iftikhar and Babar are the only two batsmen who leave the series with their heads held high,” Arthur was quoted as saying by PakPassion.
Pakistan will now face Australia in a two-Test series from November 21 to December 3.
