Former Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur has admitted that Muhammad Musa reminds him of legendary Australia pace bowler Jeff Thomson.
Musa made his international debut in the third Twenty20 International against Australia in Perth, where he conceded 39 runs off 3.5 overs.
Despite going wicketless on debut, Arthur believes the 19-year-old has a lot to offer and can form a formidable partnership with left-arm seamer Shaheen Shah Afridi.
“Musa is a little bit like a slinger, the old Jeff Thomson like. He hurries you, he has good pace, he’s flat and skids it on. With him and Shaheen Shah Afridi, they [make] a really good partnership with one right arm skiddy and the other left arm quick swinging it back in,” Arthur was quoted as saying by PakPassion.
