Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has lashed out at opening batsman Fakhar Zaman, saying he is “not a T20 player”.
Latif’s scathing criticism of Zaman comes after the 29-year-old scored two runs in two Twenty20 Internationals against Australia at a dismal average of one.
In addition to thinking that Zaman shouldn’t be playing Twenty20 cricket, Latif also pointed out that the opener has a “faulty technique”.
“Fakhar Zaman is not a T20 player. Apart from three or four innings, he has not played any noteworthy knock in T20 cricket,” Latif said in a YouTube video as quoted by cricketpakistan.com.pk. “His role in the T20I side is to be a dasher upfront, which is a difficult thing to do with his faulty technique.
“On the other hand, he is a wonderful One-Day International (ODI) player as he gets time to get going and capitalise during bowling changes.”
