Pakistan batsman Umar Akmal has made it clear that playing for his country will always take priority over domestic Twenty20 competitions.
Akmal was overlooked for the World Cup, but last played for Pakistan against Australia in the United Arab Emirates in March.
While Akmal was frustrated at being snubbed for the World Cup, he pointed out that he is still ready to represent Pakistan in all three formats.
“I am available for all three formats of cricket. My first priority is Pakistan and then other leagues. If you are playing for Pakistan and performing well, then all the leagues come to you. Being part of the Pakistan team sends a good message for all the leagues that this is the player to look out for,” he told cricketpakistan.com.pk.
