Left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir is reportedly planning to get British citizenship and buy a house in London, but he is still committed to playing for Pakistan.
Amir announced his retirement from Test cricket on Friday as he wants to focus on limited overs cricket.
Amir married British citizen Nargis Malik in September 2016 and has applied for a “spouse visa”, which would enable him to stay in England for 30 months.
It remains unclear whether Amir has already received the visa, but he has travelled to England numerous times with the Pakistan team and for county cricket.
If Amir were to get permanent residency in England, he would then be able to apply for a British passport.
