Legendary Pakistan pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar has called on the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to investigate why left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir retired from Test cricket out of the blue.
Amir announced that he would be bringing his Test career to an end in order to focus on limited overs cricket.
Akhtar was less than impressed with Amir’s decision, and has now urged the PCB to look further into it.
“I request the Pakistan board to look into the matter,” Akhtar said on his YouTube channel as quoted by PakPassion. “Amir is just 27 and his retirement shows us the mentality of the players. I think this is the time for Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan to look into the matter to bring dynamic and energetic people.”
