Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed has hinted that Pakistani fans are more respectful than Indian supporters.

His comments come after India skipper Virat Kohli had to ask Indian fans to stop booing Australia batsman Steve Smith during their World Cup match on Sunday.

Smith was banned for 12 months and stripped of the captaincy for his involvement in the ball tampering scandal in South Africa in March last year.

When asked if Pakistan fans will react the same way when the men in green take on Australia in the World Cup in Taunton on Wednesday, Sarfraz insisted that Pakistani fans have a lot more love and respect for other cricketers.

“I don’t think Pakistani people will do that. They love cricket, love to support and love the players,” Sarfraz was quoted as saying by Saj Sadiq on Twitter.
