Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq has revealed that he has been friends with batsman Babar Azam for “10 or 12 years”.
Imam and Azam are both key players in the Pakistan team, but they have been teammates for much longer than that as they have been playing together since the Under-16 level.
Imam admitted that it is due to his strong friendship with Azam that they have a good understanding whenever they bat together.
“I’ve been friends with Babar for 10 or 12 years. We’ve been playing together since the Under-16 level, so that’s why our friendship is strong,” Imam told ESPNcricinfo.
Pakistan’s next World Cup match will be against Australia in Taunton on Wednesday.
