Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed is concerned about the green surface on the pitch in Taunton, where his side will take on Australia in the World Cup on Wednesday.

According to sources, Sarfraz is also questioning why India get to play on surfaces that favour batsmen and spin, which is their speciality, while Pakistan have to play on challenging pitches.

“The captain has been wondering as to why the Indians always get wickets which are good for batting and also suitable for spinners. Such wickets suit Asian teams,” a source close to Sarfraz was quoted as saying by Geo.tv.

“However, the Pakistan team is almost always made to play on more challenging surfaces in ICC events like the one at Taunton.”

Pakistan have endured a turbulent start to their World Cup campaign as they lost their World Cup opener to the West Indies by seven wickets.

However, they bounced back in brilliant fashion as they beat England by 14 runs.

They couldn’t build on that win, however, as their third match against Sri Lanka was washed out.
