Pakistan left-arm seamer Shaheen Shah Afridi has admitted that captain Aaron Finch’s wicket will be key when his side go up against Australia in the World Cup on Wednesday.
While Australia have a number of strong batsmen in their side, including David Warner, Steve Smith and Glenn Maxwell, Afridi feels that Finch’s wicket will be the crucial one.
“Warner and Smith has made the team more stronger and if given a chance, I will try to get an early breakthrough for my team. Finch’s wicket will be crucial for us. For a team like Australia, it is important that we get their openers out early. Same is against India,” he was quoted as saying by The News International.
“We are well prepared and the players are highly motivated and looking forward to the tournament.”
Australia will go into the match looking to bounce back from their 36-run loss to India, while Pakistan’s last match against Sri Lanka was washed out.
