Former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq doesn’t see the men in green as one of the top two teams in the ongoing World Cup in England and Wales.
Pakistan have endured a turbulent start to their World Cup campaign as they lost their World Cup opener to the West Indies by seven wickets.
However, they bounced back in brilliant fashion as they beat England by 14 runs.
They couldn’t build on that win, however, as their third match against Sri Lanka was washed out.
Instead of Pakistan, Misbah believes India and England are the top two teams in the tournament.
India have won both their matches thus far as they beat South Africa by six wickets and Australia by 36 runs.
As for England, they defeated South Africa by 104 runs in their World Cup opener before falling to Pakistan by 14 runs.
They rebounded in their next match as they crushed Bangladesh by 106 runs.
“India and England are the top two teams on paper because of their performances. Then the rest of the teams come. Cricket is unpredictable and anyone can win on their day. No team is invincible,” Misbah was quoted as saying by CricTracker.
Pakistan’s next World Cup game will be against Australia in Taunton on Wednesday, while India will take on New Zealand in Nottingham on Thursday.
England, meanwhile, will face the West Indies in Southampton on Friday.
