Former Pakistan left-arm seamer Saleem Jaffar believes that the national team will qualify for the semi-finals at the World Cup since they “possess a strong batting line-up”.

The men in green have endured a turbulent start to their World Cup campaign as they lost their World Cup opener to the West Indies by seven wickets.

However, they bounced back in brilliant fashion as they beat England by 14 runs.

They couldn’t build on that win, however, as their third match against Sri Lanka was washed out.

“I think Pakistan should reach the semi-finals since they possess a strong batting line-up, which can take advantage of the batting friendly pitches [in] England,” Jaffar told cricketpakistan.com.pk.

Pakistan’s next World Cup match will be against Australia in Taunton on Wednesday.
