Former Pakistan left-arm seamer Saleem Jaffar believes that the national team are lacking a batting all-rounder that can bowl pace.

While Pakistan have all-rounders in Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik, Jaffar noted that they are missing a batsman who can bowl pace.

“It must be difficult for the team management to select the playing XI as they have to sacrifice a batsman to play five regular bowlers, which can weaken Pakistan’s batting,” Jaffar told cricketpakistan.com.pk. “It would have been ideal for us if we had a batting all-rounder in our side who could bowl medium pace.”

Pakistan’s next World Cup match will be against Australia in Taunton on Wednesday.
