Sarfraz Ahmed: “We won’t relax in our remaining six matches”

Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed has vowed that his side “won’t relax” in their last six World Cup games.

Sarfraz’s comments come after Pakistan’s clash with Sri Lanka in Bristol on Friday was washed out due to persistent rain.

Both teams received a point, but Sarfraz admitted that it was disappointing not to play, especially as the men in green were going into the match on a high as they beat hosts England by 14 runs in Nottingham on Monday.

“As a team we really wanted to play this match especially after gaining momentum with the win against England,” Sarfraz was quoted as saying by the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) website. “It is unfortunate that we were not able to play.

“We have great team spirit and our confidence is on a high after beating England. We would want to carry the momentum into the remaining games. We won’t relax in our remaining six matches.”

Pakistan’s next World Cup match will be against Australia in Taunton on Wednesday.
