Pakistan batting coach Grant Flower has made it clear that there is no truth in the rumours that he will be leaving his post after the World Cup.
Branding such speculation as “fake news”, Flower’s comments come after reports indicated that head coach Mickey Arthur and chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq will lose their jobs after the World Cup.
However, Flower insisted that he is open to staying on in his current role if he is given the opportunity by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
“No, that’s not my choice. That was fake news. I don’t know where that came from,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion. “I’d like to, but I suppose it’s all dependent on the results.”
Pakistan’s next World Cup match will be against Sri Lanka in Bristol on Friday.
