Legendary Pakistan left-arm pace bowler Wasim Akram believes that the national team need to improve their fielding going forward.

Akram’s comments come after Pakistan dropped a number of catches in their World Cup clash against England in Nottingham on Monday.

While the men in green still held on to claim a 14-run win, Akram noted that such mistakes may come back to haunt them in future matches.

“We need to improve [our] fielding, people like Imam-ul-Haq, Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam should be supremely athletically fit. You need to learn from mistakes, even after wins. Improve [the] fielding,” Wasim said on Geo’s segment “Swing Ka Sultan”.

“InshaAllah, Pakistan will carry on the momentum. There were minor mistakes and I hope team will learn from that too. It’s a long tournament and I hope [the] momentum will continue.”

Pakistan’s next World Cup game will be against Sri Lanka in Bristol on Friday.
