Wasim Akram: “You can’t define this team, one moment up, the other moment down, but that’s what makes Pakistan [an] exciting team”

Legendary Pakistan seamer Wasim Akram has revealed that people love watching the national team play since they are extremely unpredictable.

Pakistan were skittled out for 105 in their World Cup opener against the West Indies and went on to be crushed by seven wickets.

However, they bounced back to beat England, who are considered one of the favourites to win the tournament, by 14 runs in Nottingham on Monday.

“These ups and downs of the Pakistan team are the beauty of this team. [If] I haven’t been able to understand the reason behind this unpredictability in 25 years, then how you can or anyone else understand it?” Wasim said on Geo’s segment “Swing Ka Sultan”.

“You can’t define this team, one moment up, the other moment down, but that’s what makes Pakistan [an] exciting team. And this unpredictability makes everyone follow the Pakistan team.”

Pakistan’s next World Cup match will be against Sri Lanka in Bristol on Friday.
