Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur has branded wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan as an “incredible player”.
Arthur’s comments come after Rizwan starred during the ODI series against Australia, where he scored 231 runs in five matches, which included two centuries, at an average of 57.75.
Despite his superb performance against Australia, Rizwan was not included in Pakistan’s World Cup squad.
“Rizwan is an incredible player, he was fantastic in the UAE for us,” Arthur was quoted as saying by PakPassion. “He doubles up as a wicketkeeper-batsman as does the captain, we’re hoping he’ll be one of the players we’ll have in England, ready to step up at anytime if we need a replacement.”
Pakistan will kick off their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
