Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed has revealed that Babar Azam is currently his favourite player and the country’s key batsman going into the World Cup.
Azam has been in sensational form as of late, as he accumulated 221 runs, which included two half-centuries, in the Test series against South Africa at an average of 36.83.
He maintained his red-hot form in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as he finished as the sixth-highest scorer.
Azam scored 335 runs in 11 games for the Karachi Kings, which included three half-centuries, at an average of 30.45.
With Pakistan touring England for a limited overs series from May 5 to 19, and the World Cup starting on May 30, Sarfraz is hoping that Azam can continue to score runs on a consistent basis.
“Babar Azam is our key batsman and he is also my favourite player,” Sarfraz was quoted as saying by PakPassion.
