India batsman and part-time off-spinner Ambati Rayudu has been suspended from bowling in international cricket after failing to have his action assessed within the 14-day period as per the ICC’s rules.
Rayudu was reported for a suspect action after bowling two overs during the first ODI between India and Australia in Sydney on January 12.
The ICC has confirmed that unless Rayudu has his action tested at one of their accredited centres, he will continue to be suspended until he “can demonstrate he is able to bowl with a legal action”.
However, the ICC noted that with consent from the BCCI, Rayudu can bowl in domestic competitions organised by the board.
As Rayudu is not a permanent bowler it doesn’t matter too much.
Definitely true.
