Former India left-arm seamer Ashish Nehra has been added to the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s coaching leadership team for next year’s Indian Premier League (IPL).
Nehra was named the franchise’s bowling coach for this year’s tournament, and has now been promoted to work alongside newly-appointed head coach Gary Kirsten.
“I had the privilege to join the coaching team of RCB last season and feel very passionately about the team,” Nehra said in a statement as quoted by ESPNcricinfo. “I want to thank the team management for considering me in a leadership position with the franchise and look forward for the successful seasons ahead.”
The Royal Challengers have yet to win the IPL, but have featured in three finals, which came in 2009, 2011 and 2016.
