David Warner: “That is something for him to assess with the medical staff”

Australia opener David Warner has admitted that he is concerned about what the future holds for batsman Chris Lynn after he dislocated his right shoulder on Wednesday.
Lynn was fielding at midwicket during the T20 tri-series final against New Zealand in Auckland, which Australia won, when he landed awkwardly and suffered the injury.
While his shoulder was put back into place by medical staff, Lynn has been ruled out of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he was supposed to represent the Lahore Qalandars.
There are also questions being asked if he will be fit in time for the Indian Premier League (IPL), which begins on April 7.
Lynn will play for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the tournament once again as the franchise forked out INR 9.6 crores to secure his services at the IPL auction last month.
However, while Lynn is eager to feature in the IPL, Warner conceded that he is unsure if Lynn’s body can withstand the rigours of international cricket.
“That is something for him to assess with the medical staff, it is up to the individual at the end of the day,” Warner was quoted as saying by the Canberra Times. “You’ve seen it time and time again with people who have injuries at the wrong time, and if they keep getting the same injuries over and over again, they generally pull the pin on something.
“And with him, he is hungry and he is determined to keep coming back and performing. Every time he does come back, he performs. That’s the great thing about Lynny.”
With Lynn having undergone three surgeries on his left shoulder in the last two years, Warner hinted that Lynn’s hesitation to injure that shoulder again could have led to his latest injury setback.
“If you talk to him, he sort of says he tries to favour the other side because he is worried about that shoulder,” Warner said. “At the end of the day, he knows he has got to do his best and try and throw himself around to try and stop runs. So it was just a misfortune for him.”
