South Africa could be dealt a major blow if pace bowler Morne Morkel opts to sign a Kolpak deal and end his international career.
It has been reported that at least three different county sides in England are hoping to acquire the services of the 32-year-old.
Morkel has been in fantastic form since returning from a back injury, which he was told would end his cricketing career.
In the recent four-Test series against England, Morkel was the highest-wicket for the Proteas with 19 victims at an average of 26.36.
But, since there is a possibility he might lose his spot in the Test side when Dale Steyn returns, Morkel could opt to sign a lucrative deal with an English county side.
Furthermore, with the UK having voted to leave the EU, the trade deal that allows players to sign Kolpak deals could be scrapped.
