Pakistan spinner Yasir Shah tore through the West Indies’ top order on the third day in Dominica, but the hosts refused to back down and instead took the fight to the tourists.
Starting off the day on 14/0, the West Indies managed to add 29 runs to their overnight score before Kieran Powell was dismissed by Yasir for 31.
Shimron Hetmeyer made a quickfire 17 before he was caught behind off the bowling of Yasir.
Kraigg Brathwaite went on to become Yasir’s third victim as he was caught behind for 29.
Yasir ended the day with figures of 3-108 off 33 overs

Despite Yasir taking out the trio, Roston Chase and Shai Hope steadied the innings with a 55-run partnership before Hope was sent packing by Azhar Ali for 29.
Chase proceeded to score 60 off 129 balls, which included five boundaries, before he was forced to retire hurt after being struck on the elbow by a delivery from Pakistan left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir.
Even though Vishaul Singh fell shortly after, wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich and captain Jason Holder ensured the West Indies reached stumps without losing another wicket as they put together an unbeaten 29-run stand.
Dowrich finished on 20 off 49 balls, which included a boundary, while Holder remained undefeated on 11 off 42 deliveries, which included a six.
Yasir was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets, while Azhar and Mohammad Abbas claimed one wicket each.
The West Indies ended day three on 218/5 and will continue batting on Saturday at 10:00 local time or 14:00 GMT.
