South Africa pace bowler Dale Steyn has been ruled out of the final Test against England in Centurion as he continues to recover from a shoulder injury.

Steyn has been undergoing treatment in a hyperbaric chamber and while it is believed that he could be fully fit prior to the start of the fourth and final Test, South Africa are not willing to risk him, especially with the limited overs series looming over the horizon.

Steyn’s absence will leave the selectors with a tough decision to make as they have five options – Morne Morkel, Chris Morris, Kagiso Rabada, Kyle Abbott and Hardus Viljoen – to choose from to mould their pace attack.

South Africa will be aiming to earn a consolation win in Centurion after they were dethroned as the top Test team following their seven-wicket loss in the third Test in Johannesburg.
