Darren Bravo hammered an unbeaten 80, while to brother Dwayne took three wickets to lead the Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel to a convincing 72-run win over the Barbados Tridents.

Dwayne would have been thrilled with his decision to bat first as the Red Steel got off to a solid start before things started to go downhill.

However, after Jacques Kallis was dismissed for 49 off 43 balls, which included six boundaries, Darren took over and smashed the Tridents’ bowling attack all over the ground.

Darren ended up making 80 off 44 deliveries, which included four boundaries and seven sixes, as the Red Steel finished on 184/3 off their 20 overs.

Ravi Rampaul, Robin Peterson and Ashley Nurse picked up one wicket apiece.

Chasing 185 to win, the Tridents’ entire batting line-up didn’t get out of the starting blocks. To put things into perspective, none of the batsmen were able to surpass 20 runs as Pakistan batsman Misbah-ul-Haq was the top-scorer with 19 runs. As a result, the Tridents got nowhere near their target as they were bowled out for 112.

Bravo inflicted the most damage with three wickets, while Samuel Badree and Derone Davis snapped up two wickets apiece and Kallis, Johan Botha and Kevon Cooper claimed one wicket each.
