Ashai could be sentenced to six months in jail and/or a £5000 fine if he is found guilty

Nepal’s physiotherapist Aijaz Ashai has had his contract terminated after being accused of sexually assaulting a masseuse in a hotel in Northern Ireland, according to the Belfast Telegraph.

The incident is understood to have occurred on Tuesday in the same hotel the Nepal team are staying at for the ongoing World T20 Qualifier.

Ashai was taken to court on Wednesday and could face six months in jail and/or a £5000 fine if found guilty.

His case was adjourned to August 12.
