Pakistan left-arm pace bowler Mohammad Amir’s domestic comeback was delayed by persistent rain.

Amir, who recently obtained permission from the International Cricket Council (ICC) to start playing domestic cricket again, was supposed to represent Omar Associates in the Patron’s Trophy Grade-II Tournament at the Army Cricket Ground in Rawalpindi.

However, with the pitch having been waterlogged due to heavy rain last week, Amir was unable to restart his domestic career.

Amir’s international career was put on hold for five years in 2010 after he was found guilty of match-fixing.

Amir, along with former captain Salman Butt and pace bowler Mohammad Asif, spent time in prison as well.

However, the ICC allowed Amir to resume playing domestic cricket a few months before his five-year ban is lifted since they are convinced that he has shown enough remorse for his actions.
