Sri Lanka batsman Dinesh Chandimal has been ruled out for the remainder of the World Cup after injuring his hamstring during the national team’s 64-run loss to Australia on Sunday.

Chandimal sustained the injury when he attempted to go for a second run in the 41st over.

The 25-year-old immediately fell to the ground and had to be treated on the field. However, despite the treatment, Chandimal looked to be in a lot of pain and was forced to retire hurt on 52.

It has been confirmed that Chandimal will be replaced by batsman Kusal Perera.
