Ireland all-rounder Kevin O’Brien has been fined 30 per cent of his match fee for “showing dissent at an umpire’s decision” during his side’s nail-biting two-wicket win over the United Arab Emirates.
The incident occurred when O’Brien bowled a wide in the 48th over and “continued to question the umpire’s decision until bowling the next ball”.
O’Brien has admitted to the charges against him, which means that there will be no need for a formal hearing.
