Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal has passed a private bowling action test, which was conducted in a laboratory in Birmingham, England.
This will put Ajmal in a positive frame of mind when he has his action officially retested at the Sri Ramachandra University in Chennai on January 24.
“I cleared the private test,” Ajmal told AFP. “The tests were conducted in Edgbaston and all my deliveries, including the doosra, were within 15 degrees.”
However, even though he was included in Pakistan’s World Cup squad, Ajmal still remains unsure about whether he will make an appearance during the tournament.
“Look, I want to be as confident in my bowling as I was before and want to be [as] effective, so [whether] I can still play the World Cup or cannot play remains to be seen,” he said. “I want to do what is best for my country and for my team.”
